Thomas Ethan Harris is a Written and Visual Property Consultant and Film Producer living in Los Angeles, CA.  Harris’s feature credits include the original BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (1999), GEORGE WASHINGTON (2000), ALL THE REAL GIRLS (2003), THE FAMILY STONE (2005), JUNO (2007), BLUE VALENTINE (2010), PURSUIT OF LONELINESS (2012, Sundance Film Festival), THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES (2012), LIKE YOU MEAN IT (2015, Outfest, Frameline, NewFest) and BEACH RATS (2017, Sundance Film Festival).  Mr. Harris’s short film clients have been nominated for Academy Awards 7 times – two victoriously.

 Thomas is also the Co-Creator/former Director of Programming of the Los Angeles Film Festival (1995-2020). He is credited with having introduced such acclaimed contemporary filmmakers as Academy Award Nominee Bennett Miller (CAPOTE, MONEYBALL), Academy Award Winner, Dustin Lance Black (MILK), New York Film Critics Winner, David Gordon Green (GEORGE WASHINGTON), Sundance Film Festival “Best Director” Winner Eliza Hittman (BEACH RATS, NEVER RARELY SOMETIMES ALWAYS) and Academy Award Nominee Jason Reitman (JUNO, UP IN THE AIR) to the film world.

Between 2007 – 2018, Mr. Harris served as the primary film educator at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles where he produced his own, acclaimed seminar series focused on visual and aural design in cinema. In the fall of 2016, Mr. Harris joined the faculty of Chapman University where he teaches graduate student courses on contemporary narrative filmmaking, film theory and cinematic visual/aural design.
